ROCK MUSICbut not just for the atmosphere

Since 2015, part of our vineyards have been accompanied by music. This experimental method of plant protection is called GENODIQUE.

These music boxes, fully autonomous and powered by solar panels, broadcast sound two to three times a day between flowering and harvest. The vibrations produced by the notes, called “protodies,” stimulate certain proteins in the vine, allowing it to naturally strengthen its immune defenses.

This process, invented by Joel Sternheimer, a doctor in theoretical physics and musician, helps slow the development of certain wood diseases such as esca (a fungus that causes vine decline) without using chemical products.

The diffusion of these melodies also contributes to the healthy growth of the vines.

Yes, we put “music boxes” in our vineyards—a step further towards zero-chemical viticulture. This innovative initiative is part of our commitment to preserving and sustaining our vineyard.
